Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Veteran’s K9 Adventure |
|
The six in Operation Ragnar6 is about having your back.
Ragnar is the inspirational canine that paved the path. The operation is the programs that bring working dogs and people together. The Veteran K9 Adventure brings veterans and their dog to unbelievable places to truly experience the outdoors as a team. Each adventure is designed to challenge and inspire. Adventures vary from hiking through technical slot canyons, Overlanding over red rock country, rafting the untamed Colorado waters, or repelling into the depths of cavern, and that’s a Monday. |

What Separates us from the Pack?
What separates us from the pack is two key points. First of all we do and go everywhere with our dogs. And the second point is the most important aspect, and that’s we provide a platform for veterans to share their experiences to better mental health, to help their brethren veterans heal. Who better to understand and relate to veterans than other veterans. Success comes from experience, help, and opportunities. Understanding what help or opportunities are available is the part so many struggle with in their own healing. This is where our mini-doc/interviews help. Operation Ragnar6 provides a platform to hear our veterans share their journey from despair. The adventures with dogs is to inspire everyone. We want people to enjoy their companions and see how we train our working dogs to seamlessly flow through the process, be it a technical dive on repel into darkness or casually hiking pass other dogs on the trail. It takes time patience and work to minimize stress not avoidance. Why an Outdoor Adventures? The outdoors is a separation from civilization. In other words the energy changes from one place to the next. In our experience the outdoor provides less chaotic energy.
In many ways those with high anxiety or PTSD feel stress is overwhelming and out of their control. By providing situation where stress becomes manageable you can learn to control the stress in a variety of situations. Taking challenges face on and even enjoying the process is the concept of Veteran K9 Adventures. SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

A Cause to Get Behind- There are 16.8 suicides just in the veteran community. The stats on first responders is unknown at this time. The House and Senate recently passed the (HERO) Act. to fund research to gather information for future prevention. We’re so far behind on this issue CDC has made it a call to action. We can’t fix the 47,000 Suicides in the USA or the 1.4 million attempts but we can make a difference with a few individuals in our community. Our goal is association with Operation Ragnar6 (OR6) is to raise awareness and funding for service dogs, along with other programs in the near future.
One of the ways we plan on helping our community is a series of short interviews with veterans and first responders with service dogs the opportunity to talk about their struggles with trauma. Their stories are like a road map to success for others who may not see as clearly. We’re planning on using Social Media as our platform for this Veterans and First Responders series of min docs/ Interviews. Service Dogs An under utilized tool. First let’s establish what we are talking about when talking about a properly trained service dog, not some random mutt or doodle wearing a vest with patches pulling at the end of their leash. The service dogs we are talking about are those dogs trained to handle stressful situations and maintain composure, dogs that shadow until call to action. Yes those service dogs help in ways we still can’t quantify. Just in my community I know of several individuals where service dogs have saved their peoples lives, gave them purpose, and helped enormously with depression. Service dogs are expensive they take a lot of training and skill to become an asset in someone’s life. The new handler needs to be trained on how to be consistent with the training. In addition to the responsibilities are medical care, food, toys, equipment, first aid, etc. Support our mission and make a difference. How to Make a Difference- Support our Veteran K9 Adventure or Operation Ragnar6 with donations, sponsorships, just $10 a month can make a difference. Encourage friends and family to donate $10 a month a so on. Small contributions help just as much as one time large donations. |
