Working Dogs Protecting America

Now, every time I witness a strong person, I want to know: What darkness did you conquer in your story?

The documentary Blu Collar Dog is the real deal, a film about the best working dogs protecting America and the training process to make it so. Telling it slant the story is narrated by a highly trained Belgian Malinois, Ragnar whom we follow on a road trip across the country to meet some of the best K9 handlers and trainers in special operations, government agencies, and departments. In the documentary we’ll answer the questions why working dogs are the best at what they do and why they are so important in the security that keeps our boarders and beyond safe. The audience will get a front row seat to  some of the latest scientific training methodologies and get a chance to feel the bite. They will witness superhero like abilities achieved by four legged protectors that maintain our liberties.

Blu Collar Dog

 Blu Collar Dog
There are really cool dogs specialized to go to work. Majority of these dogs are working breeds genetically designed for a job. Most dogs in general have the ability to use their nose to find odor, but not all dogs are capable of the focus and relentless dedication required to the work. Even fewer dogs have the capability to apprehend bad people.

Working dogs have jobs we humans are incapable of performing or they are much more efficient. As we find out with each new challenges, we test dogs on how they  can use their nose to predict, find, and detect odors. These odors encompass a range of practical uses from medical to tactical. Working dogs detect explosives, narcotics, cancer, gas leaks, electric devices, they can even predict the onset of epilepsy much earlier than any device or even before any visual symptoms show. They are truly amazing animals.

Bue Collar Dog focuses on working dogs protecting America. Dogs that work with their human handler for the FBI, ATF, CBP Boarder Patrol, Special Operations, SWAT, Police, DEA, TSA, and more. Some dogs are single purpose while other are dual purpose. Single purpose are dogs imprinted on a specific odor, they may search for explosives, money, narcotics, electronic devices, human remains, or numerous other things. Dual purpose dogs detect odor, track, and apprehend bad people as a non-leather deterrent.

THERE IS SCIENCE BEHIND DOG TRAINING:
Blu Collar Dog documentary is a VIP behind the scene showing what and how these dogs protect America. You may have seen a K9 demonstration where a working dog bites a person in a oversized padded suit, what you have not seen is how the dog is trained to specifically target areas of the body or how it learns to increase bite pressure to gain compliance. The training is next level Jedi.

Why a documentary?- A documentary has way of reaching a broad audience, its an opportunity to share important information in a popular medium, and a great venue to attach your brand. Our documentary, on the best of the best in the dog world, promotes the highest quality in the industry. A level of standard for everyone to strive.
Blu Collar Dog is more than a documentary on working dogs protecting America it’s a platform to promote awareness about those in the industry struggling with trauma. Also by associating with a cause you encourage brand loyalty.
A Cause to Get Behind- There are 16.8 suicides just in the veteran community. The stats on first responders is unknown at this time. The House and Senate recently passed the (HERO) Act. to fund research to  gather information for future prevention. We’re so far behind on this issue CDC has made it a call to action. We can’t fix the 47,000 Suicides in the USA or the 1.4 million attempts but we can make a difference with a few individuals in our community. Our goal is association with Operation Ragnar6 (OR6) is to raise awareness and funding for service dogs, along with other programs in the near future.
One of the ways we plan on helping our community is a series of short interviews with veterans and first responders with service dogs the opportunity to talk about their struggles with trauma. Their stories are like a road map to success for others who may not see as clearly. We’re planning on using FaceBook as our platform for this Veterans and First Responders with service dog series.
Service Dogs- An under utilized tool. First let’s establish what we are talking about, a properly trained service dog, not some random mutt or doodle wearing a vest with patches pooling at the end of their leash. The service dogs we are talking about are those dogs trained to handle stressful situations and maintain composure, dogs that shadow until call to action. Yes those service dogs help in ways we still can’t quantify. Just in my community I know of several individuals where service dogs have saved their peoples lives, gave them purpose, and helped enormously with depression.
Service dogs are expensive they take a lot of training and skill to become an asset in someone’s life. The new handler needs to be trained on how to be consistent with the training. In addition to the responsibilities are medical care, food, toys, equipment, first aid, etc.
How to Make a Difference- Supporting our documentary allows us to travel around the country to talk about these underlying issues. The travel required for our interviews  in the documentary is travel cost we can take advantage of to attend trade shows, conventions, conferences, demonstrations, podcast, and more. Your support provides time to create content for social media, and customized content for your brand. Your platforms can reproduce the information to reach a larger audience while providing  you with Good Samaritan credentials.
